Korean super girl group 2NE1 has released “I Am The Best,” a stomping scorcher of a dance track that has taken Korea by storm. The comeback track of CL, Minzy, Park Bom, andDara has already reached number 1 on nearly allKorean airplay and digital sales charts, including Melon, Cyworld, MNet, Dosirak, Bugs, and Soribada.

 On the Instiz chart, which compiles several charts across Korea, “I Am The Best” debuts at number 3, a worthy achievement considering the girls only had a few days of chart performance counted towards their overall total.

In releasing “I Am The Best,” fans will note thatYG Entertainment, the girls’ management, did not hesitate in promoting 2NE1 like the Hallyu stars that they are. “I Am The Best” is chock full of all the ingredients that make 2NE1 one of Korea’s superstar groups: a hypnotic bassline that won’t quit, red-hot synths that scream for attention, CL’s distinctive rap, Park Bom’s booming powerhouse voice, and opportunities for Minzy and Dara to showcase their vocal work. Not to be forgotten, however, is the most important ingredient specially for live performances which 2NE1 has committed to for this release, is their sizzling dance moves. In releasing “I Am The Best,” a track that could not be more drastically different from previous single “Lonely,” 2NE1 continues to assert itself as one of the most dynamic, exciting acts in K-Pop today.
