Will.i.am and Cl of 2ne1

The Black Eyed Peas are on hiatus. They are not breaking up. And they certainly aren’t doing anything as radical as pretending everything after “Where Is The Love?” didn’t exist, letting Fergie pursue her solo career permanently (those two alone are probably the wishes of many a curmudgeon) and, in need of a lead singer, recruiting Lee Chae-rin–otherwise known as CL, the lead singer of K-pop group 2NE1.

There’s context, because there’s always context: will.i.am is producing the group’s next album, and the performance, which also included apl.de.ap, was at the MAMA Awards in Singapore, a major awards ceremony and recruiter of international artists like Dr. Dre and Snoop. The other bit of context is that the performance is great even if you don’t have a preference of BEP eras. 

I heard it will benefit studying abroad!
